Moving chicks and getting more chicks.

I'm so sorry for not being able to post last week! Saturday we went with dad to work and we didn't get back home till around 6:00, and Monday and Tuesday I went with daddy again (this week we had spring break) !

Well last Thursday we had a neighbor come over and asked if we wanted eight chicks!! We said yes!!
After we showed them the 98 chicks that we already had they went back to there house to get the chicks (they did not have them with them) . While we were waiting for them to come back we got a cage for them and put food and water in it.  After about five minutes they arrived with eight chicks in a box they came in and gave them to us!! They were probably 2 or 3 days old when we got them!

Aren't they fuzzy?!

Now for the bigger chicks!  A couple days ago we decided to move the big mama's that were in the pen and put the chicks in it!  We held a chick to the fence holes and we figured out that the chicks could not get out of the fence unless they were really scared.

They usually look like this when we come in the morning to open the hatch to let them out!  They are always eager to get out!!
Were now going to show you the pen they are now in!

This is behind the coop which is where they come out of and roam around!

This is the farthest part from the coop.

This part is from the side of the coop
This is the hole coop and pen!

Thanks for lookin' at the pictures that we had!! Sorry for getting to post so late!!
Till next time, God Bless!!

Well to day Seth and I decided to put a little pen beside the coop with a little bit of wire mesh we found so the chicks could have a little bit more room to fly around. Here it is!

Not too much but a little more room!

Getting some water.

Some times they like to jump on top of the feeders and waterers, so here are some pics of one of them on top!

Isn't that neat!?

This is a Wyandotte, one of our many varieties of chickens.

The next pic looks like the chicks were arguing over something and then they walked off in different directions (Seth's idea)!

Like we said...... walking away:)

This is a Sex Link or Red Stars or Golden Comet or whatever you want to call them(They have lots of names!!)!!

Well that's it for now, I hope you enjoyed the chicks!!

Till next time, God bless!

Quick Update.

Just a quick update on the chicks.  A Chicken died yesterday afternoon, and it was a small Barred Rock. She was so small that Dad thought that she could have been trampled on and then died:(  We had one that was constipated so both were in the sick ward, mostly composed of a crate. So he got better in like.....a day and a half and we put him(or she) in with the other chicks again!!

I hope I can post some pictures soon, but we've been very busy doing school, gardens, and miscellaneous stuff!

Till next time, God bless!!
